Few instruments are as unattainable and legendary as the 1939 Hammond Novachord. Fortunately, Soniccouture have turned the first commercially available synthesizer into an affordable, 3.5GB Kontakt library loaded with 50 samples for all 72 keys, amounting to a total of 3,600 samples. The lush sound of the Novachord has often been used to create warm pads for film: 'Gone with the Wind', 'House of Frankenstein' and 'The Twilight Zone' are just a few examples in which the Novachord plays a role. With less than 200 models produced, the real thing is a real collector's item and, just like the Hammond B3, Mellotron and Minimoog, gets to claim a chapter of its own in music history.
